Crafted with earth-conscious, sonically superior EcoTonewood technology, the Designed in Bend Breedlove Discovery S Concert CE European Spruce African Mahogany Acoustic Electric Guitar is the first guitar that will last a lifetime and invites a variety of playing styles, from bold to gentle.

Sustainably sourced from exotic and native tonewoods, this guitar is made without the use of clear-cut trees. Breedlove has deep relationships with responsible suppliers around the globe, and owner Tom Bedell has visited 15 countries to understand the origins of the wood, its selection and harvesting, and the impact on the wildlife, community, forest, and planet.

The guitar's solid wood top is the defining element of its sound, driving the key aspects of volume, tone, sustain, and projection. Spruce, known for its famous stiffness-to-weight ratio, will ring loud and clear. The Concert body shape, Breedlove's most popular, is well-balanced, compact, and comfortable to play, offering all the qualities of a great-sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy but always felt, and it works well for fingerstyle, vocal accompaniment, or full-strum playing.

The EcoTonewood back and sides use a resonant core tonewood layer of clear-cut free, individually harvested African mahogany, replacing the typical tone-robbing softwoods used in standard acoustic guitar manufacture. Starting in late June 2022, this model will transition at retail from Sitka spruce to European spruce as Breedlove continually works to update their guitars with the most sustainable sourcing available.

Breedlove guitars feature a slimmer neck profile, enabling comfortable play even with smaller hands. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish also contributes to ideal playability through a labor-intensive process of precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.
